Privacy Policy

About This Website

Effective From May23rd 2018

I am Susan Weeks, and this is my website for my podcast production services.

This website address is

I am a podcast producer and online marketing trainer and mentor. I am also a podcast host with Stitchery Stories podcast.

I provide this website to provide information about my professional services.

It is a very simple informational website. This Privacy Policy is also therefore very simple.

What Personal Data I Collect And Why I Collect It

Free Opt-in Offer “Is A Podcast Right For You”

I created 8 unique videos for my email opt-in offer.

You can signup for these at various places on my website.

You will be asked to provide your first name and your email address – that’s all.

You will also be asked to confirm that you have read this privacy policy and accept its contents.

Under GDPR terminology I am providing these free videos and I am  processing your name and email address under the processing reason of Legitimate Interest. It is very clear what is being offered to you on the signup page, and in the follow up emails with related resources and information that you will receive from me, and when.

You can of course Unsubscribe from those emails whenever you want, there is always an Unsubscribe button at the bottom of every email.

My Contact Form

The contact form on this website  sends the information you input,  to me, via email.

I will use the email address you have provided me to reply to you and answer your questions.

I use CONSENT as the legal basis  for processing that email – in fact using IMPLIED CONSENT because you have given me your email address so I can communicate with you regarding whatever it is that you entered into the contact form.

The contact form will add you onto my contacts list, but you are NOT added into any email marketing lists or processes.

You will NOT be marketed to.

I will follow up on your enquiry, but that is all. OK?  🙂

After 2 months if you have not turned into a client, then your contact details will be deleted from my contacts list.

Blog Comments

I switched those off years ago ‘cos I was sick of the pathetic spam comments.

If you would like to make a comment about a blog post, or ask questions about one, then please use my Contact form, and we can have a proper chat about it.  🙂

When You Become A Client

When you become a client then as part of our ‘Onboarding’ processes I will be collecting and processing personal data – in paper notes and in electronic form.

As part of client onboarding I will go into more details about my Client Privacy Policy.

I don’t need to clutter up this general website privacy policy with stuff only relevant to clients. But just in case you are wondering…. I use secure cloud storage, a secure password manager tool, and a locked cupboard in a locked office for the paper notes I make whilst working with you.

When we have finished working together, then I destroy any paperwork and delete emails and entries from my password manager tool and remove myself from any other systems, tools, accounts and apps that I was using on your behalf. I will retain your contact details and may occasionally follow up to see how you are, what’s new in your world and if you need any help with anything, or if you could refer me.

Cookies are small pieces of information, letters and numbers actually, that websites use to help them work better, to help you use the website better, or to collect information about what you are doing. Most websites use cookies in one way or another – some good, some not so good. Some cookies can actually identify you, others just collect what you were doing on a website, but you can’t be identified at all from that information.

I don’t actually do much with cookies, it’s all very straightforward.

When you visit my website, you will be clearly told that the website uses cookies and you will have to opportunity to go and check the cookies policy and decide what you want the website to do with cookies. You will see this on just about every website that you visit. Ironically, this will set a cookie about cookies!

Analytics Cookies

This website only collects cookies from some very common website analytics software called Google Analytics. Most websites use Google Analytics. We have been using it for years.

This helps me to understand how my website visitors use my website, such as how you found it, where you came from, how long you visited, what you did while you visited. All this information is jumbled up together and made anonymous, to give me trends and statistics about how my visitors use this website. In no way can you be identified by any of those cookies.

Social Media Sharing Cookies

Another place where cookies are set is when you click on Social Sharing buttons. They log you into your social media accounts and then those accounts set cookies. It is not my site doing that, but your social media accounts.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

And finally!

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Therefore, such websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. I am not responsible for any cookies set by other websites / accounts that you arrived at by interacting with embedded content on this site.

I am not responsible for what happens on other websites. Links were correct and working as intended when I first used them. BUT this IS the internet and things change over time, as well all know. So, if something doesn’t work then please let me know and I will fix or remove it.

Well Done – You Got To The End

More than likely you will just ignore all this stuff that we have to do these days,  and just go and do something more useful instead.

But at least I have tried to do a ‘proper job’ and put this in place.

I think I fancy a nice glass of wine after all this GDPR stuff – don’t you? 🙂
